Constipation Can Prevent You From Losing Your Excess Weight
What constitutes constipation? It may sound crazy to some people, but you are constipated if you have 1 or less bowel movements each day.
What causes this to happen?
Well there are several reasons...
It may be that you have just changed up your eating from a plan that was not very healthy to a new healthier nutrition plan. Because you are probably, now, eating more fruits, vegetables and natural foods that contain a higher amount of healthy fiber, your body is trying to adjust and get used to it.
There are other reasons as well to experience constipation. One of the biggest reasons you may have a hell of a time going to the bathroom is that you are dehydrated. When your colon is not absorbing enough water, it will not be able to push the unhealthy stuff out of it.
Guess what happens to this unhealthy stuff left over? It hangs out inside of you, making you tremendously uncomfortable, tired, and worst of all...prevents you from losing that excess weight!
It's true, if you have a toxic build up inside your colon, it becomes exceptionally hard for your body to take in nutrients and burn ...
... away the bad fat from your body.
So, those are just two of the number of reasons you may be experiencing constipation...but there are many more. The really important question is how do you deal with this uncomfortable dilemma?
Let's avoid the laxatives and even some of the natural herbal formulas. A lot of these supplements can actually be really harmful and send you running for the bathroom. Also a lot of these products will make it quite difficult to leave the house (as in drinking way too much prune juice.)
Here are some simple and natural ways you can deal with your constipation:
1. Make it a priority to drink enough water every single day. How do you know how much is enough? As a rule, you should be drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. So, if you weigh 200 pounds, you need 100 ounces of water. Nope, it's not a misprint. It may be hard to begin with that amount all at once but make it a priority to gradually build yourself up to drinking your targeted amount.
2. Add in freshly ground flaxseeds to your meals. They can be found at most grocery stores and health food stores. I've also seen them at farmers markets. You can grind them up in a coffee grinder and use about 1 TBSP mixed in with your water in the morning. You can also add your tablespoon to your morning oatmeal, yogurt or even to salads or on top of fruit. This will ensure that you not only be increasing your fiber content for your day but you will be also adding extra healthy Omega 3's to your food.
3. Also make it a habit to include raw food into each one of your meals. You should make certain that there is at least one raw element to each and every meal. In other words, for breakfast and snacks incorporate some uncooked fruit. For lunch and dinner have some raw vegetables whether mixed in or by themselves. Even though cooked vegetables are good to eat, you will highly benefit from the enzymes in fruits and veggies when eaten raw so make sure to include both cooked and raw into meals.
4. This one is a neat and for the most part an unknown one. Begin your day with this great "digestive tonic": 1 TBSP lemon juice added in one glass of water with a dash of cayenne pepper. This morning concoction will help to stimulate your bowels and release the bad stuff that may be stuck to your colon walls. Get ready for your taste buds to go whoa!
