Bullet Proof Vests Can Be Your Right Armor For Personal Defense

If you are looking for some personal armor which will prevent you from bullets and pellets, then bullet proof vests can be the right one for you. Bullet proof jacket is popular all over the world and are used by ordinary citizens and well as by security and defense personnel. To simply put it, bullet proof vests prevent your body from being hit by bullets, pellets and shrapnel by restricting them. It is a very popular form of personal armor. Different models have different names like bullet resistant vests, bullet proof jacket, and ballistic vests and so on. To cater to the high demand worldwide, the companies are coming up with more and more advanced models with added features and specifications.
Usually, there are two types of bullet proof vests: soft vests and hard vests. The vests are normally made from hard fabric and fiber material which is bullet resistant. In case of hard and more advanced forms of vests, there are additional ceramic and metal plates to withstand the pellets and bullets from hi tech weapons. In most cases, a bullet proof jacket or vest is usually worn around the torso area to cover the good part ...
... of the body.
The history of the use of bullet proof vests goes back to the 19th century when it was first used to prevent against bullet wounds. It was in the later part of this century that the instrument came into full effect among the allied forces. In the First World War, the use of the bullet proof jacket was prominent. However these jackets were only effective against low velocity bullets. To prevent casualty and fatalities in the wars, improved and advanced versions were developed by the researchers and now we have very mechanized jackets which can even withstand high explosive attacks.
The laminated and hard fiber of the bullet proof vests consist of a number of layers which protects the wearer from bullets and pellets. In fact soft vests can even protect the wearer against fragments of the explosives and the pellets of the hand grenades. Compared to the soft vests, the hard vests have metal plates in them which make them very effective against bullets fired from machine guns, automatic rifles, explosives and other hi tech firearms. The hard fabric or metal surface of the jacket traps the coming bullet and deforms it into a disc shape in order to withstand the impact of it. The impact is spread over the whole body which helps the wearer to withstand the shock as well.
The strong fiber of the bullet proof vests or bullet proof jacket is also effective against slash and stab attacks from sharp instruments. Police forces, paramilitary forces, bodyguards, private security and even ordinary people wear soft vests. On the other hand, hard vests are worn by SWAT teams, combat forces, and tactical units, military and so on. For bomb disposal squad personnel there are more advanced forms of bullet proof jacket. In addition to the vests, these also consist of hard helmets, face masks, side protection armor and so on.
With the advent of science and technology, more and more hi tech models of bullet proof vests and bullet proof jacket are coming up. Some of the most modern models consist of Kevlar Vests, Modular Tactical Vests and so on. They have added features and are also very hassle free to wear and release.
