Changes in temperature and humidity cause the sounding board to swell and shrink. This is why a piano tuner in London is in high demand. The sounding board is connected to the piano strings, and this causes the strings to move with the sounding board. Over time, this changes the tension of the strings and makes the piano go out of tune.

If a piano is played often and is situated in a place where rain is quite often, we recommend that it should be tuned 3-4 times a year. However if a piano is played less and for recreational use only, then 2-3 times in a year is enough.

Piano tuning ensures that the piano provides maximum enjoyment for its owners and maintains a high quality sound. Most piano manufacturers recommend that every piano should be tuned at least twice a year; piano tunings is done keeping in mind about the age and condition of the instrument, and fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Piano tunings may also be necessary depending upon the number of times the piano is played. Apart from tuning a piano tuner in London ...
... also has to look upon String Breakages, Regulation and Voicing and Cleaning. I have tried by best to give you a short idea of String Breakages, Regulation and Voicing including cleaning.

If your piano has broken strings, please inform when your piano tuner visits. The thin wire strings in the treble are easily replace able and the technicians do carry replacement with them. The strings in the bass have to be specially made to order and will therefore take longer to replace.

Our tuners may be able to undertake minor regulation or voicing of a few notes if required, it may be an indication that the piano requires servicing. Please consult your tuner who will refer this to our Technical Services Department. If you wish to have your piano assessed for repairs or valuation please contact the Technical Services Department.

From time to time dust may build up inside your piano. You may also occasionally face issues with pests. Our technicians can advise you about this. The process takes approximately thirty minutes to an hour.
