Creating The Latest Sports Hub In India: Greater Noida
Noida & Greater Noida will soon emerge as important destination for international cricket matches with the creation of an international-level cricket stadium-cum-sports city with a capacity of 50,000. The pacesetter recreational as well as residential and commercial facilities project, will offer a plethora of Games facilities of international standards when it is concertized in Sector 152, along the happening Noida- Greater Noida expressway.
The project will go a long way in establishing Noida & Greater Noida on the global sports map world class with sporting infrastructure to transform it into a sports destination. The state of the art facility, when completed, will boast of a pavilion having facilities of dressing rooms for playing teams and a media conference room. A VVIP / corporate box with a stupendous view of a cricket match is also coming up. An Indoor Stadium is also envisaged to include an Olympic size swimming pool as well as a multipurpose playing arena extending superb facilities for indoor games like badminton, basketball, table tennis, billiards and with a seating capacity of 6500.A unique club with provisions like restaurant, card room, crèche, suites, open terrace party lawns, library is also planned.
A Football ground surrounded by a 400m running track will be created soon within this athletic pavilion. Synthetic turfing over running track will be provided for in the future.
These international class facilities will be complemented by world class infrastructure to ensure an alluring, active and healthful life style. The Noida–Greater Noida Expressway is a six-lane highway connecting Noida, Uttar Pradesh, an industrial suburb of Delhi to Greater Noida, a new suburb. This expressway is under expansion to Taj Economic Zone and the International Airport and Aviation Hub proposed to be constructed along the Yamuna Expressway (Taj Expressway). The expressway is 24.53 km long, built at a cost of 400 crores to relieve the National Highway 2 which was already congested.
The Yamuna Expressway on the other hand, stretching 165 kms, connects international tourist destinations of Delhi and Agra. The 6-lane (extendable to 8 lane) access controlled Expressway, is planned to have 6 Interchanges along the entire length. The Yamuna Expressway Project is conceived with the idea to not only reduce the travel time between New Delhi and Agra but also to open up avenue for Industrial and Urban development of the region and provide the base for convergence to tourism and other allied industries.
