Another year is here and I sit here wondering what happened to the last one. It’s true that as you get older life starts to go by faster. While I try to live day by day versus having my head in the clouds thinking about the future, I can’t help but wonder what it going to happen next.

As I previously wrote in my article “Looking back at the last Decade,” the last ten years have brought us many new technologies that change the way we live today. This blog post will focus on some of the things that I think will be useful to us in the next year.

In 2010, I continue to see a huge development in social media, with Google having a strong, if not dominating presence, with Google Wave. I’m not too sure where Twitter and Facebook will be in the coming years. I also think there will be a strong focus on “Cloud Storage.” Google is one place that has already started to take the forefront with its many services, including Google Wave, Google Docs, Gmail and Google Chrome, but it will be interesting to see what kind of storage system they come up with that integrates all of these services into one, similar to the functionality on Android Phones.

We’ve discussed several times how print media is dying, and social media may be the thing that either pulls the plug or revives it altogether. Another thing that may save print media is E-Books. Kindle was the first to do this and soon after others jumped on the development technology. As of right now, Barnes
