Lord of destruction is the expansion pack of the Diablo 2 which was developed by the Blizzard North. It can be played by many players which play a major role in the success of this game and counted as one of the most successful expansion pack.
In LOD the monsters are divided into four categories: single, regular, unique and super unique monster. The objective is to kill the monster and collect the weapons, armor, and other items that help in killing the monster. This game can be played by mouse. As you attack the enemies the enemies gets killed and more experience you will gain. Enemies can also drop an array of gold, to potion, to weapons and to armor. You can select any one from the 5 characters classes: Amazons, Barbarians, Necromancers, Paladins and Sorceresses. Ability points are added into four different areas: strength, dexterity, vitality and energy. Every character has weapons and armor and can use by dragging piece of equipment into their appropriate slot. These include helm, boots, armor, gloves, belt, shield, rings, and amulet. LOD starts where Diablo 2 ends. Following are some of the salient features of lord of destruction:
1) In Lord of destruction two new character classes namely Druid and Assassin are added.
2) New items like Elite items, class-specific items, crafted items, Ethical items, Runes, jewels are added.
3) LOD includes an extra Act. The player starts from Act1 and move accordingly. The act includes:
a) Act I The sightless Eye
b) Act II The secret of the Vizjerei
c) Act III The infernal Gate
d) Act IV The harrowing
e) Act V Lord of destruction

Items play an important role in killing the monsters. The items give the power to bring about greater damages, special attack, resistance and defense. In Diablo II armor, jewelry and weapons are impressively large, magical items are added using prefix and suffix so that the number of weapons increase largely. It provides an entirely new act to play, after the completion of first four acts.
