Year ago, Las Vegas was thought of as a destination for gamblers. However, the city has worked hard to change its image to a place where even the most wholesome of families can feel comfortable and find the atmosphere inviting. The city is now billed as an all-around tourist destination and while casinos are the primary and lifeblood of the economy, there a so many things to choose from for singles, couples and families.

One of the many great attractions in Las Vegas is the Dancing Water Fountain Show, and you won't have to spend a dime to enjoy it. The entire family can watch the water, music and lights extravaganza in the front of the Bellagio Hotel. The show is carried out over an eight-acre man-made lake as powerful jets spew water as high as 240 feet in the air to the tunes of artists, such as Bobby Darren, Luciano Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra. The event is one of Las Vegas major draws and can be seen Monday- Friday between the hours of 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. every half-hour and from 7:00 to midnight, every 15 minutes. On the week-end, the shows begin at noon.

Las Vegas seems to be making its mark on thrill seekers ...
... with the Roller Coaster at New York- New York, which use to be called the Manhattan Express. Over 1 million visitors have braved this rollercoaster each year since it was introduced in the late 1990's.

Talking about stunning views, and another outlandish rollercoaster ride for you thrill seekers, head on over to the tallest free-standing observation tower in the United States - the Stratosphere Tower. You can see the Las Vegas Strip, surrounding suburbs and the snow-covered peaks of the 11,000 feet high Mt. Charleston. On the very top of the Stratosphere is what is billed as the "world highest rollercoaster," which definitely is not for the faint of heart. The island has many different types of plants brought in from the natural environment of the creatures to help give the habitat a more natural feel. Among the 300 birds there is a flock of - you guess it- pink flamingoes. There are also ducks, swans and penguins living ion the island. You will also see turtles and koi populating the stream.
