Burn The Floor Review For The Broadway Dance Sensation

The show has a mix of Latin and Ballroom dances, ranging from waltze to the modern pop; the music encompasses many different genres across different times; and excellent dancers from around the world. Burn The Floor is the artistic vision of Jason Gilkison who directs and choreographs the performances of dancers from Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, The Philippines Russia, Sweden, the United States, and other countries. The cast also includes Australian Ballroom and World Latin American champions. Gilkison himself was once a World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer.

... Quickstep and Swing are, along with Viennese Waltz, Jive, and the Paso Doble. The show has been going around the world since its debut in Bournemouth, England, in 1999. It has performed in more than 30 countries before reaching the hallowed stages of Broadway.

Burn The Floor opened at Longacre Theatre on Aug 2, 2009 and was slated to run for 12 weeks. However, this dance extravaganza has extended its run up to Jan 3, 2010.
