How Often Should I Get A Blood Test?

In today’s hectic lifestyle, it is important for an individual to take a good care of his/ her health. If one does not take care of their health and fall ill, it can eat into a big chunk of their savings or salary. Nowadays, people consume lot of fast food that is not really nutritious and healthy and can lead to many health problems in the future. In order to detect and prevent a health problem, one should periodically get a blood test. Just as an engine oil of a vehicle can tell a lot about the wear and tear of its internal parts, blood test can reveal a lot about a person’s health. However, there is definitely no guideline laid down by doctors as to how frequently a person should get a blood test.
If you have a family doctor, it will be easy to determine the same. In all probability, the doctor would know your medical history and family history that will help him in determining the frequency of a blood test.
For a routine blood test, doctors suggest complete blood count (CBC) which usually includes:
White blood cell count: It is useful in detecting infection in a body.
White blood cell types: ...
... It gives important information about immune system and is capable of detecting Leukemia.
Red blood cell count (RBC): This is helpful in detecting if a person is anemic or not.
Hemoglobin (Hgb): It measures the amount of hemoglobin in the blood. The Hgb in blood has the ability to carry oxygen to the entire body. Usually, you need to have a certain level of Hgb in the body to be able to donate blood. People with low Hgb are not allowed to donate blood.
Platelet Count: Platelets are vital in blood clotting. Too many or too few platelets can be life threatening for a human body. Generally, in cases of Dengue the platelet count drops to dangerous levels.
How often one should get a blood test really depends on several factors. The doctor will offer guidance according to a patient’s health condition, age and gender. One can find many diagnostic centers in Hyderabad, if they happen to live there. However, the doctor is the best person to recommend a diagnostic center in Hyderabador in any other metro city.
Once the test is done and the report arrives, the doctor interprets the reports and advices treatment on the particular problem accordingly. Please bear in mind that it does not take a lot of time for an infection or disease to attack the body and drainone’s energy and money. As there are different types of blood tests, always consult the doctor, who is the best person to ask, before going for a blood test.
