In women, over or under secretion of hormones such as estrogens result in hair problems. During pregnancy estrogen hormones increase and this would drop suddenly after three months of delivery. It is this sudden drop in the hormones that lead to thinning follicles in new mothers. It is quite normal that about 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place. This hair loss can some times be treated if you treat thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Certain medications such as birth control pill and other medications cause a lot of problems with your follicle growth. You must try and replace these medications with some other alternative. Instead of having birth control pill, you can opt for other birth control measures such as intra uterine device (IUD), coppertine etc.

Hormonal therapy: If there is a hormonal imbalance, this can be corrected through hormonal ...
... therapy. As hormones are a major culprits in shedding off follicles. They will soon lose its strength.

Stress: Emotional and mental pressure needs to be controlled in order to keep your hair problems in control. This can be achieved by increasing the level of endorphins which will automatically bring down level of stress. Exercise, breathing exercise etc will help you increase endorphins and you will soon see positive change in the growth of your follicles.

Meno pause: Most ladies lose their follicles due to menopausal symptoms. There is hormonal imbalance and a lot of emotional and mental stress due to which there can be shedding of your mane.

Proper diet: Eat spinach which is rich in anti oxidants and other green leafy vegetables. These are essential to have thicker and fuller looking mane. Promote good hair care tips and retain good health.

Massage your scalp: Stimulate blood circulation to your scalp and improve the growth of thick follicles. Promote good growth of your follicles and you will soon see this change with proper massage technique used.

Certain infections may cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines. All of the above will help you deal with your problems.
