Many people interpret the procedure of hair and skin transplantation to be same. However there are a lot of differences in the two techniques involving the procedures and surgical methods. When we talk about the technique of skin transplantation, it involves the grafting of the whole layer of skin which contains all the tissues like epidermis, dermis and the hair follicles as well. Similarly when the skin grafting is done, the surgeon shifts the skin in small patches and not the whole strip of skin. On the other hand hair transplantation technique constitutes of the transferring of the small hair follicles excluding the skin parts or any other tissue like epidermis or dermis. Moreover one follicle after the other is grafted to the recipient area which is quite much time consuming.
Latest techniques of hair transplantation
Basically the growth of hair I nature does not takes place in the way that they grow one by one. Instead the growth of hair follicles and hair fibers is such that we observe the growth of hair in the group of 1 to 4 hairs. Due to this growth pattern of hair, nowadays the techniques have been developed ...
... by the surgeons and physicians in whom the complete follicular units are transferred. This ensures the growth of more than one hair fiber at a time in one place. The follicular units are shifted in the form of groups and as a result the growth of hair also takes place in the form of groups. This famous technique is called as Follicular Unite Extraction also abbreviated as FUE which is then transplanted by the technique of Follicular Unit Transplantation also called as FUT. Other than follicular unit extraction, there is another method as well which is called as the strip harvesting but the former one is preferred and more recommended by the doctors.
Modern hair transplant techniques
