Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium – A Cultural Hub Of Navi Mumbai!
Theatre is in the DNA of Mumbai. It has always been a significant contributor to the cultural landscape of the city. Home to two of the finest theatre venues of our country, Prithvi theatre and NCPA, Mumbai pioneered in bringing this art form to the forefront. Boasting the most intellectual and active theatre audience, the city has a distinct theatre culture. Mumbaikars love their theatre as much as they love their Bollywood. However, one part of the city which is comparatively lagging behind when it comes to this genre of art is, Navi Mumbai. So, the need to promote the socio-cultural demand of Navi Mumbai's citizens gave birth to one of the finest landmarks of the city - Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, named after the pioneer of Marathi theatre, Shri Vishnudas Bhave.
Situated in the heart of Navi Mumbai, Vashi, Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha is one of the finest landmarks of the city. It has become a major hub for various theatre and other cultural activities in this part of the city. The venue has a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art auditorium, which makes it one of the best theatres in Mumbai. It hosts a plethora of events ...
... ranging from music concerts to plays and exhibitions. With a built-up space of 51,000 sq. Ft, it has a seating capacity of around 1072 viewers in two tiers.
This weekend, Shri Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha hosts two music events. Saturday will be an evening dedicated to the Legend of Indian music, Rafi Sahab. This evening will feature programmes on Dev Anand, R.D. Burman and Mohammad Rafi. Singers Sampada Goswami and Anil Bajpai will present the immortal songs of Mh. Rafi. The music arranger for the evening will be Ajay Madan and the event will be compered by Sandeep Kokil. Sunday will be the evening of a music competition, Idol 3 organised by Sunil Wadkar's Rafi's Fan Club Mumbai. This is the grand finale of RFCM. All the finalists will perform and the music will be arranged by Chetan Upadhayay. RFCM has been indulging in Talent hunts contests since many years now. RFCM was established by Shree Sunil Wadekar in December 2012 with the aim to promote and encourage fresh talent in the fields of singing, dancing, music and even anchoring.
This weekend, two of the city's best musical events are happening in Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruhu. For a fan of Mh. Rafi, these events are nothing short of a festival. So, if you too crave for a melodious evening filled with lovely songs of Mh. Rafi, then you know where to head this weekend!
