This part is responsible for calculation of percentile score. Other 2 sections in Part-2 comprising General Awareness and Essay Writing are equally important although at the first stage they will not be counted for arriving at the percentile score. The first 4 sections contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) while Essay Writing is of descriptive nature.
All questions will carry equal marks in XAT 2017 and there will be negative marking with 1/4 of a mark for each incorrect answer. Each question will have five alternatives. You will have to answer each question by darkening the appropriate bubble against the question number on the answer sheet. XAT 2016 brought about significant changes in number of questions in each section by reducing the number of MCQs and increasing the time limit to solve Part-1.
