Medicinal Benefits Of Raw Honey
Honey is one of the worlds most famed substances. It is mentioned in numerous religious texts, including the Holy Quran, as a healing substance and actually is an under appreciated natural liquid. I need to put down some thoughts about a couple of things in this piece - things a bit beyond what a standard person would consider querying. One query : Is honey any different, and any better, than sugar? Second : Are there different types of this golden substance, some being more fit than others?
Honey is made up of fructrose and sucrose, about 75%, and then numerous other sugars. The rest of it is other sugars, some protein, and minerals. Average supermarket variety is filtered, and many of the beneficial substances have been removed. What is comes down to is that both of my questions will lead to the same answer. Some honey, particularly the raw variety, beats others. This is where the health claims of honey are being made. Raw honey , therefore , is the type that we want to look at when we ask if this natural sweetener is different than sugar.
Are we talking about just another sweetener, maybe even ...
... like corn syrup? Definitely not. It is understood to have anti-allergic, anti inflammatory, and expectorant properties. It's been used to treat diverse stomach infirmities, ulcers, and has even been used as an anti-bacterial agent to treat the injuries of soldiers.
In 1989, the book of the Royal Society of medication contained an editorial which said that "The therapeutic potential of uncontaminated, pure honey is way underutilized." The varsity of Waikato's Peter Molan writes, that the efficacy of honey as a therapeutic agent has been unquestionably demonstrated in the literature reviewed in Part 1 of this article made public in 1999, but the biochemical rationalization of these effects is more hypothetical.
There are masses of modern pieces of research on the constructive aftermath of this golden, sweet syrup on human health. Considering how sour the normal drugs taste, why not have great tasting honey as both a defensive practice, and as a natural remedy for conditions before resorting to other cures.
Sometimes we need to consider that prior generations were knowledgable, and they'd long-term proof of the constructive aftermath of natural substances. Honey isn't alone in that regard ; things like tea, spices, apple cider vinegar, molasses and ghee ( clarified butter ) are all things which are natural healers. There are thousands in each culture, and either they're ignored, or in the case of honey, far diluted from their natural form so their benefits are diluted.
