Know The Meaning Of Some Commonly Used Terms In Real Estate

Whenever you land up to purchase a property, say flat or apartment, you collide with some common terms everywhere which very specifically belongs to the real estate world. Though the meaning of these terms may not be something very tough but to know them appropriately is helpful to come to a deal and exactly know what you are purchasing and paying for. Find the meanings of some of these words below:

Acre- It is the unit of the measurement of land. 1 acre equals to 43560 square feet. You will hear it mainly when the agent or the dealer explain you the total area of the land upon which the project has been built up.

BHK- It nothing but an acronym and stands for Bedroom, Hall, Kitchen. Most of the time it is preceded with a numeric value which denotes the number of bedrooms in the unit. For example 1BHK means the property unit is having 1 bedroom along with 1 kitchen and 1 hall as the main components of the unit. 2BHK denotes 2 bedrooms along with 1 kitchen and 1 hall.

Built-up area, Carpet area and Super-built area often get confused among each other and also many of them do not have a clear idea of what ...
... they denote. So check it out carefully such that whenever you get to hear them, they make clear sense.

Built-Up Area- It is the total area of the property unit which includes the total usable floor area along with the thickness of the wall.

Carpet Area- It is the total usable floor area.

Super-built Area- It is the area that include your built-up area along with the share of the commonly used areas like corridor, staircase, garden, clubhouse, swimming pool, etc. The common area is share equally among all the property unit holders.

Investment property- It is the property that is being purchased or have been purchased with the intent of supplementing owner's income out of it and not for the use of residential purpose by the owner himself.
