Colleges And Institutes Offering Master Of Business Administration
Business studies have become one of the most popular academic courses that students now like to pursue for their post-graduation. There are many institutes in the country which have started offering these courses to the students. The management colleges which offer these courses to the students are collectively known as B schools in the world. Business studies in post graduate courses are offered in many different specialisations like marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and human resources development. There are some colleges which offer MBA while there are many other colleges which offer PGDM courses for the students. It is important to know the difference between the two colleges by the students.
Admission Requirements for Master of Business Administration
MBA as a course is offered by the colleges and institutes which have recognition or affiliation with any state or central university of the country. Master of Business Administration course is more of theoretical and classroom based course where emphasis is made on lectures. The admission procedure in both the courses is more or less the same. The basic eligibility criteria is graduation with a minimum of 50% marks. There are some colleges and institutes offering MBA which have their own entrance exam while colleges offering PGDM courses requires student to appear in any of the national level exam like CAT, MAT or XAT. The best students who score well in these exams are called for a round of GD and PI. Among them the highest scoring students are given admission in the courses.
There are many specialisations in which the courses are offered. The most famous among the students are marketing management, financial management, entrepreneurship development and human resources development. There are also many new specialisations which have come up in the recent years like international business management, health care management, and retail management. These specialisations are mostly opting by the students after their second semester. The duration of a regular MBA or PGDM course is 2 years which is divided into 4 semesters. Exams for the courses are held after every semester end.
The placements of the course are one of the best among all the professional courses. There are many colleges and institutes which have their own placement cells and starts placements in the third and the fourth semester for the students. Some of the colleges also have tie ups with the companies who come to place the students in the campus. The stating salary which is offered to the students is very good and attractive. They also offer many chances of growth and promotion.
