After you've decided to take CLEP exams to earn college credit without having to take a college course, the next thing you need to do is to study. You'll want to study for the CLEP test right up until your exam date arrives. If you know in advance what information will be on the CLEP test, you'll be more prepared to pass the CLEP exam and earn college credit for doing so. You'll also need to show that you can apply your knowledge of Chemistry to both unfamiliar and practical situations and that you know how to use math to solve certain chemistry problems.

Interpretations - infer and deduce from data available and integrate information to form conclusions; recognize unstated assumptions. The Chemistry CLEP test will also require you to show that you know how to deduce and infer information from available data and that you know how to integrate information to make your own conclusions. You'll also need to be able to prove that you can recognize assumptions even though those assumptions are not stated.

So, if science is one of your strong areas and you'd like to be exempt from taking a year's worth of college chemistry classes, taking the CLEP test for Chemistry might be a wise decision for you.
