Europe is a continent which is a major tourist destination internationally. Paris, London, Rome, Barcelona are just a few of the many famous cities which tourists flock to each year. However, many do not realize that there are a large number of underrate yet equally beautiful cities in Europe just waiting to be explored. In this article we name just a few of these cities to which you must plan your Europe tour:

Bruges, Belgium
The city of Bruges in Belgium has become popular since 2008 when the film In Bruges was released. Though it still lies in the shadow of Brussels and Antwerp, this historic city must be explored for its popular medieval architecture. Bruges is the capital of West Flanders and is distinguished by its beautiful canals, old cobbled streets and medieval buildings. The city center Markt is particularly popular as it features horse drawn carriage rides and a number of 17th century European houses which have now been converted into quaint cafes and impressive restaurants. The city has been dubbed the Venice of the north and make sure you visit the Madonna and Child sculpture made by Michelangelo.

The Italian city of Ferrara is one you should add to your European tour package if you plan on visiting Italy. The city is famous for being surrounded ancient walls which run roughly 9 kilometers long. There are also a number of beautiful palaces dating back to the 14th and 15th century along with impressive cathedrals which you can visit during your stay. The broad streets have been designed perfectly to allow you to stroll through the city in the evenings and take in the sights. What makes the city intriguing is the fact that it was the home of many writers, musicians and artists which have led to the city having a rich history. The legendary filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni also called the beloved city his home.

Valencia, Spain
This third largest city of Spain is ocated on the south eastern Orange Blossom Coast of Spain where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. The reason why you must consider adding the city to your Europe tour is for its impressive architecture and cathedrals, historic winding streets and a great number of beautiful museums and galleries. It is also affectionately called the City of Arts and Sciences with a number of futuristic structures built. For those who love nature, the city also has several beaches and a number of walking trails which allow you to bird watch in peace.

Europe is a continent with a rich history and a number of cultures. When planning a Europe tour package you should not simply visit the famous touristy cities but also the cities which hold a story and offer you a true European experience.
