Training Young Kids
1. Try and keep them focused
Try and make it interesting and challenging enough so that the kids need to put in some effort and concentration into the exercises. Always feel free to think out of the box and try something new as the kids love challenges and putting effort into the game
2. Don’t Make it Lengthy
Never train the kids for long hours, because then the kids might get bored and wouldn’t want to return to the court. Just keep it under 30-60 minutes per session, and watch your athletes turn into players in short period of time
3. Let them have fun
Keep it fun Make sure the kids under you have a lot of fun during training sessions. Interact with them all you want and make sure kids under you have fun and have a smile on their face while training, because if they don’t enjoy training they will find someone who is more fun to train with
4. Balance the strenuousness of the training activities
This is a very important factor in getting them trained right. There should be proper balance of difficulty level at which you’re going to train the kids. Don’t keep it hard so they ...
... wouldn’t want to try it and don’t keep it so simple either so they would get easily bored out of it. Just keep it balanced and interesting.
5. Keep the basics clean
Teach them first rather than jumping straight to training them. Always keep in mind that they are in there early developmental stages physically as well as mentally. So teach them the basics first only then move forward with training.
6. Discipline is important. But not Dictatorship
This is one of the most important factor that determines the success of your training program. Keep them disciplined but don’t get too hard on them, because this is just a tennis training court not a military boot camp.
And most of all make them better human beings first by teaching them life skills every chance you get. Good Luck with training young kids please leave a comment down below and feel free to follow us on facebook and twitter
