About Turkey & Turkish Visa

Turkey is one of the most amazing countries in the world to visit. Straddling both the Asian and European continents, it has a distinct flavor that is wonderfully unique and bound to delight any traveler.
Most visitors begin in Turkey’s enigmatic capital, Istanbul. From the hauntingly beautiful Blue Mosque to bustling markets, this is a city with so much to offer in terms of shopping, culture and food.
Many of the attractions are centrally located, so it is easy to visit them in a short time. The Blue Mosque is located in Sultana met Square, close to other wonderful attractions including the Hagias Sophia, Roman Basilica and Archaeology Museum. All of these sites are great places to find out about Turkey’s fascinating history, which spans many centuries and a number of empires!
Just over a kilometer from Sultana met Square is the enchanting Topkapi Palace. A beautiful site, this is open every day except Tuesday and is a must visit for visitors to Istanbul. Another must-see attraction is the Grand Bazaar.
Further afield from Istanbul, it is easy to explore sites including the highly unique Cappadocia, ...
... with its unique landscapes. One of the most popular ways to see Cappadocia’s unique features is from a hot air balloon – definitely a once in a life time experience! Other attractions outside Istanbul include the ruined Roman city of Ephesus, or beachside towns such as Antalya.
To visit Turkey, many travellers will require a visa. The easiest way to get it is to get an Turkey visa from the official website here, which will allow you to stay for up to 90 days. Many traveller's report that it is possible to get this visa upon arrival at the Turkish airport (from the computer kiosks), however the e-visa is so easy to get online, it is recommended to get the visa prior to arriving in Turkish visa.
Other countries, including most European countries, will not need a visa. Instead, they will need to present their passport upon arrival at the airport, which will enable a stay of up to 90 days, depending on your nationality.
It is advisable to check the requirements for your country prior departure, as they do vary considerably. If you would like specific information on visas to Turkey, it is best to check with the Turkey visa embassy in your country.
