There are 3 main reasons that set up 98% of the fat loss diet plans for failure.

1) Times have changed, but our bodies have remained the same; this is the first reason why 98% of fat loss diet plans fail.

Centuries ago, reliable food sources were unavailable, and hence, our bodies are still designed for hunting and gathering and for times when there was scarcity of food. In those days, there were no refrigerators stocked with food just 10 feet away and no drive-thrus, where one could stop on the way home from work.

Their only choices were either working very hard to find food or eating no food at all. At times, they would have to exist on very little or no nutrition.

To compensate, their bodies slowed down their metabolisms and stored more calories as fat when food was available; this ensured that there would be a back-up energy source for times when food was scarce.

Sadly, although most of us living in the developed world no longer need this survival mechanism, it still exists.

What this means is that when we take up a diet that calls for restricting our calories, this old survival ...
... mechanism kicks into gear and prevents you from getting results.

This approach will make your metabolism sluggish; you will burn less fat and, at the same time, store more of it. Additionally, your body breaks down most of your lean muscle tissue.

2) 98% of fat loss diet plans fail because they leave us feeling hungrier.

(Not to mention that you'll be thinking about food non-stop)

Do you honestly believe that you can maintain that state for any extended period of time?

I don't think so! Unless you begin to eat regular meals again, the stabbing hunger pains from these fat loss diet plans won't go.

I don't personally know of anyone who can maintain that permanently, and I would guess that 99% or more of the population can't either.

Do you think you can lose weight and keep it off when you're following fat loss diet plans that are impossible to maintain and bound to fail?

You CAN'T!

3) 98% of the fat loss diet plans fail because reasons 1 and 2 work together to create situations that ensure failure.

Once you stop following these low-calorie fat loss diet plans, you're in for another unfortunate surprise.

The time spent on the fat loss diet has primed your body to store more fat and burn less of it. Eventually, when you resume your normal diet, you will end up piling on more pounds than before. (Know what "yo-yo dieting" is? This is it!)

Unfortunately, even the weight you lost, if any, when you were on such fat loss diet plans was mostly that of retained water and lean muscle mass.

Even if the number on the scale might have gone down, you failed to lose body fat.

With all these factors involved, it's no surprise that 98% of fat loss diet plans fail.
