The largest city in the United Arab Emirates, has always been a major tourist destination. Dubao is not only known for its impressive modern and ancient attractions but also for being a major shopping destination. One can shop for almost all international fashion brands here. Most tourists visit Dubai simply with the aim to shop. The access to some of the most expensive brands in the world plays a major part in the appeal of the city. A large part of the city’s tourism also relies on its attraction as a shopper’s heaven.

In the February of 1996, the Dubai Shopping Festival was created as a retail annual event. The aim was originally to benefit the retail trade in Dubai. It however became so famous that the festival itself has become a major international tourist attraction. Scores of tourists pour into the city to take advantage of the festival to shop for everything from clothes to technology.
