I'm not {talking about|eluding to} {single male travellers|men} {that fit the description ‘Sex Tourist'|on a sex holiday}, what I'm talking about are {normal|usual|standard|regular} package tourists such as {normal|usual|standard|regular} couples and groups of friends.

The Thai sex industry and in {particular|specific} Pat Pong Road in Bangkok have become {famous|well-known|famed|celebrated} around the world and attract {many|a lot of|lots of|numerous} package tourists that just want to see it {|one time in their lives}. For those {|of you} that don't know, Pat Pong is a {short|small|little|petite} street lined with Go - go bars where girls {dance|parade about} almost {naked|bare|nude| fully unclothed} and perform {disgusting|revolting|repulsive|sickening} acts on stage utilizing props such as bottle openers, ping pong balls and blow pipes. ...

When two of my friends arrived in {Bangkok|Thailand} on their honeymoon, the first place that they {wanted|required|asked|pestered} me to {take|show} them was Pat Pong, {to|so that they could} see one of the world famous sex shows {|first hand}. They immediately slammed two bills down on the table for 2000 baht each (which is about $ 80 in total) for the four bottles of beer {|that we had ordered}. We refused to pay and were {roughed up|threatened} and pushed around, but {|in the end} we managed to get away with paying just 500 baht.

This is {normal|usual|standard|regular} practice in Pat Pong and I wouldn't like to think how many {unwitting|unsuspecting|unaware|ignorant} tourists are scammed like this every day. There are other safer places in Bangkok, such as Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy that offer basically the {same|identical|equal} thing if {curious|inquisitive|enquiring|interested} tourists really do want to see what goes on in such {deprived|horrible|disgusting|poor} places. But on the whole, I would say avoid {these|such} places or go with {someone|a local} who knows {what they are doing|the ropes}.

As for {my story|me}, I {made a note of|noted} the name of the bar and {went to inform|informed} the Tourist Police the {following|next|subsequent} day. They were very {helpful|obliging|willing to lend a hand|cooperative} and completely unsurprised at {what had happened|my story}. Later {|on} that night we went back to the {bar in question|same bar} with the tourist police where they retrieved our money from the {|bar} owner.

{Like I said|As i said before}, I {recommend that you don't|don't recommend that you} go to any such places when you are in {Thailand|Bangkok}. {But|However}, if you do, and something {bad|unfortunate} happens, just remember the name of the bar and inform the tourist police at the first {possible |probable|potential} opportunity. {|The number for the tourist police in Thailand is 1155. There are usually Tourist Police Officers in most of the tourist hot spots and are usually very helpful.}
