Tasty food is the one common thing that can be found in every human beings' necessity list. Isn't it? Food is essential and thus can't be avoided. And I am yet to meet a person who says, 'I like non-tasty food. ' Therefore whatever you may decide to eat, veg, non-veg, ultra veg or semi non-veg (last two are my own categorisation), taste is the one common and essential factor.

I am an out-n-out foodie and at the same time a great lover of cooking. I love and keep on experimenting with food, its' tastes and flavours. Today I have compiled few tips that are known to contribute a lot to enhance the taste of any food getting cooked. I follow them to the core and there are very few times the food turned out trash, and even when it is so, its definitely because of some other reasons.

Most of these tips are collected from my mom, MIL and grandmoms. These tips are so easy-peesy, yet those are the secret to yummyness. So here goes the magic formulas:

1. Store Oil and Butter in cool and dark place- First thing first, after getting the groceries, keep your fats, i.e oil and butter in proper place as they get oxodized ...
... quickly and go rancid imparting wrong flavour to the food. Store butter and other animal and dairy fats in refrigerator. For vegetable oils, choose the coolest and darkest part of your pantry.

2. Prepare Onion, ginger and garlic freshly- It is good to prepare all your ingredients before starting the cooking process. But take care to prepare onion, ginger and garlic the last. The more fresh they remain before stricking the oil, the more flavour it emit. I generally peel them and keep it ready in front of the stove and chop and grate them just before adding to the oil.

3. Seed and jelly around in tomato imparts flavour- Yes, the seed and the jelly around in tomato has lot of flavour in it. Therefore do not de-seed the tomato unless a recipe requires it specifically.

4. Bring oil to proper heat- Take care to bring the oil to proper heat, before adding the veggies or masalas. Not enough hot oil curbs the tastes of the added ingredients.

5. Use sugar- Lastly, being a bong you can say that this is my habit, but it really contributes a lot to the taste and flavour. Add a little sugar to the curries and daal, that enhances their tastes all the more. Also before deep-frying the veggies like brinjal, potato and also fish and prawns, sprinkle some sugar over them to bring out the optimum taste and crunchiness.

I know, what you are thinking. Yes cooking is fun and for many like me its relaxing as well. But, the main culprit is time. We hardly get enough time to cook food regularly in this busy schedule.
