Like blinds of any other materials wooden variety also has those basic qualities, like it is useful to stop the extra sun light from outside. You can manage the amount of light that comes in with using the blinds. It also helps keep the heat outside the room and cools the room. It also gives a more private space whenever it is pulled down.
Pros:
• One of the most well known and best pros of this type of blinds is the grainy look of the wood. Wood’s natural grainy looks gives a very soothing yet rich look to the whole space.
• Being made of a material that has a natural tendency to cool the space, blinds from wood prove of great ...
... effect when it comes to cooling. So one can actually experience a more cool affect in the presence of wooden materials.

Cons:
• One of the most common disadvantages that many users face is that for a larger window when the blind is pulled completely the wooden slates tend to stack up on the upper side hence blocking a part of the upper side of the window.
• It requires a bit more of care and maintenance as per compared to the other materials. Regular dusting especially with feather duster is required.
• Any mishandling can immediately break the slates. These have to be handled with utmost care.
• If there is any breaking of slates or bending then the replacement would be needed to done, which might be a bit costly affair.
• Waxing of the wooden slates at regular intervals would be needed to keep them nice and glossy all the times. So this makes the maintenance a bit high for the wooden slates.
• Another important point is that this material should not be exposed to too much of extreme climatic condition or even any extremities. Any excessive heat or humidity can cause the slates to bend and ultimately break.
So, these are the few points that are the advantages and disadvantages of the wooden blinds. With classic looks every time does comes a bit of care and maintenance, so with a little bit care these blinds can last a lifetime.
