Rubber is another favoured heat resistant material, and rubber castors, be it the solid rubber, or semi rubber are able to resist heats ranging from 80�C to 600�C. Additionally, these castors are considered oven proof, making them ideal for bakeries, and pottery businesses.

Carbon fiber castors are absolutely versatile in the automotive industry. On the racetrack, equipment dollies have carbon fiber castors, as they are perfect in withstanding intense heat and abrasion. Chemicals and toxins simply permeate the composition of carbon fiber, and therefore, these castors should not be in close proximity to any heavy-duty toxins, gasoline, or chemicals.

Special heat resistant steel and stainless steel castors lack the plus point of braving high temperatures, but they also bear heavy weight. Their heat resistant limit stands at approximately -40 degrees C to +280 degrees C, and they are capable of bearing any type of weight, ranging from light to extra heavy duty.

Even though not a general rule, it is surmised that the stipulated caster temperature limit is higher than the expected temperature within the operating environment. But it is vital to solicit an expert prior to investing in any heat resistant caster to avert any mishaps that might occur due to being misinformed. Last but not least, the temperature ranges specified afore are but rough estimates, and might vary with respect to the particular kind of caster.
