Sugarcane is consumed by people all across the globe. There are many countries that are popular in cultivating sugarcane and then it is processed in specialized mill factories. Undoubtedly, sugarcane is one of the most popular and the largest crop in all over the world. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation has estimated that the cultivation on 26.0 million hectares done in more than ninety countries and harvested around 1.83 billion tons all over the world. One of the largest sugarcane producers in the world is Brazil and the rest of the countries are Mexico, Pakistan, India, Thailand and China.

In sugarcane agriculture, the demand for sugar is the key driver. Sugar is also produced from sugar beets and it is grown in subtropical regions that has cold temperate climate. At present, wholesale Mexican sugar is gaining popularity and is one of the most reputed sugar cultivators in the world. There are many factories that process sugarcane to produce sugar in Mexico. Brown sugar suppliers are many in different regions of Mexico. This is the main reason for which Mexico is very popular for its sweet deserts and other food menus. Sugarcane reeds are also used to make different types of items like thatch, screens, mats and pens. In country like Indonesia, young sugarcane is eaten raw, toasted or steamed to be eaten as a good food menu. From a research, it has been found that Mexican sugar production for 2015 and 2016 will be around 6.5 million metric tons raw value. Sugar production for MY 2014/15 was revised downward to 6.4 MMT-RV. The sugar export forecast for MY 2015/16 is 1.8 MMT-RV. Post /New total sugar export estimate for MY 2014/15 is 1.6 MMT-RV, where exports to the United States under the suspension agreements are 1,383,969.68 MT-RV.

Due to lower export requirements, the Mexican sugar industry expects sugar production levels for marketing year (MY) 2015/16 (October/September) to be close to 6.5 MMT-RV as appropriate cultivation practices, such as application of fertilizers, pesticides, crop rotation, and pruning. Even though there is not yet an official Mexican forecast for sugar production for MY 2015/16, the Post/New forecast is 6.5 MMT-RV. According to recent reports, renewal of cane fields continues. Final production will depend on timely maintenance of sugar mills, appropriate cultivation practices, weather throughout the growing season, and harvest conditions.
