It is the second week of the first term here in Oak Heights, and the newly enrolled students have settled in quick and well. Being a small school, at Oak Heights, students have the opportunity to gain confidence academically and socially. It is important for students to have confidence to help facilitate their learning in class. We promote confidence within the class by encouraging our students to ask as much questions as possible. This is a learning tactic which engages the students during class and prevents them from dazing. In order to ensure that our students receive the individual attention that they deserve, here at Oak Heights we offer teaching and learning to take place within small class sizes. Our children are happy, confident, and accustomed to establishing lasting relationships within a positive and peaceful atmosphere. We work closely with parents and keep them up to date with their children's progress.

The atmosphere in the School is friendly and formal and most importantly, disciplined enough to encourage students to make the most of their studies. Students at our School understand the importance of education, ...
... and how it will affect their who life in the long run. Teachers ensure that a close eye is kept on the progress of each student. Parents are kept up-to-date through detailed and regular progress reports, and through the conduct of annual parents' evenings. Attendance is fully monitored. Regular homework and testing are important elements of the courses we provide.

On Thursday 17th of September, our year 11 students had participated in a work experience workshop which was run by James, the main speaker, and Trisha, the work experience organiser. This workshop is particularly useful for our year 11 students due to the fact that it is their last year at Oak Heights, so it is important that our students know exactly what they want to do in the future. Our year 11 students understand that this year there will be a lot of pressure to ensure that they recieve the highest possible grade. Knowing what they want to study in university and which job they have an interest in, is just as important. We also aim to successfully inspire, motivate, and help our students to realise their full potential. From an academic to a social and personal perspective, our focus is to continuously develop and empower our children. Furthermore, we enthusiastically nurture their moral values and integrity.
