Whether you are spending a month vacation or moving to Australia permanently, there are a few things you need to consider and take note also that the travel is usually tough. This can be an exhausting preparation for a few weeks before leaving and another several weeks of adjustment once you get there.

It is good if you can set an appointment with your travel agent so as to have less hassle on making flight arrangements. Even if you are on a tough, difficult time, this is not the time to rush somebody who is doing you the favor of fixing your schedules. Be nice. If you can find an agent who has served previous emigrants to Australia, better!

Take note that straight flight to Australia may be quicker than having to break the travel in stopovers. Nonetheless, if you wish to reduce stress as you are on board, break your travel. You will have more time to loosen up and refresh. Well, that is unless you are in a total hurry.

Consider what you are going to bring. You cannot bring your large wardrobe on the plane. Choose only the ones you can bring. Pack in the basic goods and necessities. It would be all ...
... right to take with you some snacks. If you wish to listen to your favorite music, then bring your iPod or mp3 players. Portable DVD players are also handy. So are magazines and pocket books. With toiletries, there are regulations involved. So make sure to check with your travel aide about this matter.

Bring enough food. You cannot be starving on your way when you're several tens of thousands of feet above the ground.

About the clothing, it is important to consider climate conditions. If you are moving from Quebec, Canada to Queensland, Australia in January, well, then you might just be so surprised at how drastic the climate difference is between these two parts of the world. While you are wearing thick coats in Quebec, you might as well leave them there if you are planning to stay for long in Queensland. The former endures a cold, continental climate whilst the latter enjoys a perennial green, tropical/subtropical climate. Another important consideration is the opposite seasons. So if you are traveling from England to Victoria in July make sure to change into winter jackets and boots because while it is warm summer in UK in July, southern regions of Australia have winter. You can't be wearing flip flops and short sleeved cotton garments as you get off the plane and be greeted by the cold, crisp air in the middle of July.

Another important consideration is your health condition before traveling. Better opt to cancel flights if you have some health condition. Otherwise proceed but bring enough fluids and food. Note that there are regulations with regards to bringing beverages and food on the plane. Also, the customs may not allow some stuff to be carried in.

Now, isn't emigrating to Australia a little taxing? Of course, it is. But the short-term hard work could prove satisfying.
