Should You Invest In Properties In South Mumbai?

South Mumbai is one of the most expensive areas to invest in the entire country; there is no denying the fact. The earlier inhabitants mostly Parsis settled here. The Parsian community has a big hand in making Mumbai, the financial capital of India. When they came to India to settle, the properties they built around had beautiful colonial architecture and most of them overlooked the sea. You would find them even today.
South Mumbai has the best of the buildings, offices, market places. Though a bit congested, but it is the place where you get the real feel of what is Mumbai actually. Well connected through road and rail, South Mumbai has everything one could ask for. The world’s best food joint are here. The Mohammed Ali road during the Ramzan month is so crowded that one does not find an inch to move further, but the mouth watering delicacies it serves just makes one to die for it.

Today South Mumbai has some of the finest buildings of the country wherein you find 3, 4 or more BHK options. Then you have servant quarters, Puja rooms, study room as extras. As opposed to the notion of congested spaces in Mumbai, the apartments here are quite spacious and most of them offer sea view. Almost all the prominent builders have projects here offering ultra modern amenities.
Now when we discuss about the pricing do not be surprised if you see prices for 2 BHK starting from 2.5 crore onwards. People who invest in properties in South Mumbai are mostly end users. The prices have gone up since past few years with the coming of Bandra Worli Sea link and other infrastructural projects.
If you have money to invest in and budget is not a constraint, South Mumbai will give good returns. There are many actors, industrialists who have houses over there as it enjoys good proximity with all the places of commercial importance.
Since the property is quite good and has high rates, there have been cases where the people have been duped of their hard earned money by crooks posing as real estate agent. It is therefore very important to cross check all the credentials of the property you are interested in , the credibility of builder or developer in whose project you are interested and the authenticity of the agent through whom you have come across the property. Check for any legal angles and see if all the papers from all the relevant authorities are in place before closing the deal. South Mumbai is a real estate hub and will surely give good return provided you invest in the right property that has all the right credentials.
