SMS-Chat has an extremely finger friendly interface, that is designed to provide you with a quicker and better text messaging experience. All messages are grouped by date, and you can easily follow a conversation by scrolling through chats with a finger. Chats with most recent messages appear on top, and contacts are filtered by phone number and name. The main display shows your text message threads, and tapping on a chat in the list opens up that conversation. Within a specific conversation, a green arrow depicts messages received by you, a blue arrow depicts messages you successfully sent, while a red arrow depicts that the message was not sent.

A yellow message icon depicts that the message is unread. You can view the time/date of the messages, and there is a message box at the bottom, where you can quickly reply to the chat you opened up.





To send an SMS to someone, with who you have already exchanged text messages, just click on the persons name in the main window. You can then view the chat between that person and you. In order to start a new SMS-Chat, click on the 'new sms' icon, and you will be provided with a list of all your contacts. You can scroll through the list using your finger, just like for an iphone, and you can use the side strip containing the alphabets, to access the contact more quickly. You can also use the keyboard to narrow down the search faster. Simply bring up the keyboard, and then type in the characters to search the contacts list.

SMS-Chat supports multiple SMS messaging, and you can even send the same message to all your selected contacts at once. SMS-Chat also provides some advanced options for text messaging. The top right menu in each chat lets you add recipients, create contacts, manage templates, delete, forward, resend, or minimize the chat. Adding a new contact is very easy, and you merely have to tap two times on the text message you received from that person.

SMS-Chat also has template support. There are plenty of pre-defined messages that are extremely helpful when you are busy, and need to respond quickly to the other person. You can add a new message to the template, by just typing the desired words in the window and pressing the '+' icon. Once SMS-Chat is launched, the new text message appears as a skinned pop-up, with options available as icons. SMS-Chat has full integration with other windows mobile software, and you can easily access SMS-Chat directly from FunContact.
