Buying the perfect sofa for your living room can be a daunting task sometime. You need to select the one that is right in size, comfortable and suit the interiors of your room well. It is a major investment and will probably remain with you for the lifetime. Besides checking its look and style, there are a few factors like how long it will last, how precisely it is crafted etc. that you should keep in mind while purchasing a new set for your home.

Sturdy frames mean long lasting set

While choosing a sofa for your house, the most important thing you should check is the frame. The quality of the frame determines how long your furniture will last. Instead of frames made of soft woods like pine, opt for frames that are made of head woods like ash, kiln-dried oak, etc. Kiln-dried hardwoods make the best frames for furniture. Avoid frame made of metal, particleboard etc. Check the thickness of the woods; keep in mind that your frame should be at least 1 inch thick. Check the legs, remember that screwed or built in legs are always better than the glued one.

Check the joinery of frames

While doing the quality ...
... check for your furniture, taking a look at the joinery is very essential. If the frame has dowelled joints or attached with metal screws, brackets, it is considered to be sturdy. Avoid the suites that are held together solely on nails or staples. You should also check whether reinforcing wooden blocks are used to keep it in shape. Remember your salesperson is the best person to tell you how the furniture is made.

Check the springs

While most of the normal sofas come with sinuous springs, some high end sofa and reclining suites feature good quality "eight-way hand-tied springs”. Suites with eight-way hand-tied springs are comfortable and much expensive. Remove the cushions and feel the springs through the leather upholstery. When you touch them they should feel firm and strong. Avoid furniture that do not have springs because they are weak and uncomfortable.

If you are buying leather reclining set or luxurious couch, you should check and make sure whether all the mechanisms work perfectly. Reclining furniture is more expensive, so it’s always recommended to check every mechanism before splurging money on it.

Feel the cushions

One of the most used filling for cushions is low cost and easy to use Polyurethane foam. High end furniture manufacturers often use much expensive high-resilient (HR) foam in their cushions as it is long lasting and more comfortable. If possible lift the cushions and feel how heavy they are. If they are heavy and nice, it means that manufacturers have used good quality foams. If the cushions are sewn to the frames, it means that the sofa is not probably the best quality.

Durable fabric

Your sofa needs durable fabric to withstand rough use. You should select the fabric depending on your lifestyle and budget. If you have pets, a tightly woven fabric would be perfect and if you have small children in home opt for synthetic microfiber as it is stain resistant. Leather is really strong, durable but much expensive. If you are planning to buy leather corner set or recliners, opt for top grain leather as it will last longer. Last but the not the least, you should check the tailoring before splurging money on your couch. Make sure that all seams and welting should be straight and proper place.

Before buying a Cheap Corner Sofa you need to figure out what work best for your living room and style you want to incorporate there. These above mentioned tips will help you to find the perfect new piece of furniture to suit the interior of your room.
