A lot more awareness is being raised about the protection of the environment. People are being warned about the effects their careless living has on the earth. Inadvertently, we are all affected be the carbon monoxide emissions from our vehicles. There are now green drives pushing for fewer cars on the road, and that the cars on the road are more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly.

This is another reason why the pay as you drive car insurance is so much more popular than ever before. Previously, people wanted to use pay as you drive insurance to save money if they were not driving on the road as much as others. But now it has come to the attention of environmentalists that pay as you drive car insurance is a great way of saving the earth, and reducing carbon monoxide emissions. Before we get into why this is, we will first discuss how pay as you drive auto insurance works.

Pay as you drive car insurance is calculated on a cent per kilometer rate. The cent per kilometer rate is determined by the regular factors, such as age, driving history, and the vehicle you are driving. There is usually a small set ...
... fee you have to pay each month for your insurance, and you are given a certain amount of kilometers to travel for free. Once you go over that set amount of kilometers, you will have to pay per kilometer. The car insurance company installs a vehicle tracker in your car so that they will be able to tell how far you have driven each month. This tracker also doubles as a protective measure, because if the car is stolen they will be able to track it down. This is how they lower the theft risk of the car.

The reason environmentally aware people believe that pay as you drive car insurance is a good move for the earth is because it could encourage people to cut down on their driving and thus their carbon monoxide emissions. If you know that you are going to pay money every time you drive, you may take more careful consideration before driving. This encourages people to partake in lift clubs and make use of public transport. Pay as you drive insurance is also more popular by the people who are naturally environmentally conscious. These people are more likely to drive on public transport and participate in lift clubs. Unfortunately for these people, in some of their countries they are legally bound to pay car insurance every month. They may feel this is not fair because they are paying the same costs on car insurance but yet they are making concerted efforts to preserve the health of the ozone layer. If they are only paying insurance for the amount of time that they spend driving, then they will be getting a fairer end of the deal.

As you can see, there are many facets to why pay as you drive insurance is a popular and far car insurance choice. Not only does it save the earth and push people to think twice before driving, but it is also fair for those who do not travel on the roads as much as other people.
