I wish to express my deepest admiration for Dr. Kalam’s contribution in putting India on the world map both in our nuclear capability and space research program. We shall never forget his role in inspiring people from all walks of life particularly the youth and students. His demise is an irreparable loss to India.

I had the opportunity of meeting Dr. Kalam few times and each time I developed greater awe and regard for his simplicity and humility. For someone who had achieved so many distinctions - be it as a scientist, philanthropist, statesman and a source of inspiration to the student community. India has lost one of the most dedicated son of the soil in his departure.

I recall Dr. Abdul Kalam’s simplicity that made him strike a chord of familiarity almost instantaneously with whosoever audience with him. He was undoubtedly one of the most gifted scientists of India and above all an inspiring leader with indomitable spirit. His humility and sterling character made him one of the most admired personalities globally. His outstanding contribution as a scientist earned him more than forty ...
... doctorates. He was a voracious reader, a prolific writer, besides being awarded the Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan and becoming the most admired President of India. It was just couple of years ago that he was conferred the Von Braun Award by the National Space Society for excellence in space management projects. He had a very unassuming nature for someone of his caliber who was popularly known as “missile man of India” and “People’s President.
