Vaccinating On Time Means Healthier Children

There are various vaccinations, which your child needs to get protected from certain diseases. Child immunization is not a one-time program. In fact it is a series of vaccination time-table, which guarantees children to remain disease free. In the recent years, the awareness about the vaccination program has reached a very high level. And even in the small cities, the percentage of children getting immunized has increased considerably in the past few years.
If you immunize your child as per the prescribed schedule, you are offering him a better health and protecting him from serious diseases like: Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis (whooping cough), Pneumococcal disease, Polio, Rubella (German measles), Tetanus (lockjaw), Rotavirus, and Varicella (chickenpox). To understand the importance of immunization, remember the booming line ‘do bund jindagi ke’. The slogan echoed throughout the country and it became synonymous with the polio eradication program run in the country.
Such jingles are always introduced by the government and health ...
... conscious non-profit organizations to address the needs of the vulnerable group of the society and make them conscious and alert about the immunization needs. According to a study, it is expected that Rotavirus vaccines are projected to save more than 2.4 million lives in developing countries by 2030.
In India, when we talk about vaccination, more often we think that it is meant for small kids only. But medical science has categorically mentioned that it starts from birth and is administered till the age of 18 years. From Hematitis B to Influenza and Meningococcal, the vaccination schedule of different diseases spans from child birth to eighteen years of age. The most striking aspect of the immunization process is, it protects infants before age 2 from 14 different deadly diseases.
All over the world child immunization schedule is followed with extreme seriousness. But in developing countries like India, a huge percentage of people are compelled to suffer from poverty and live a miserable life. For them, it becomes an uphill task to follow an immunization schedule. For them government run healthcare centers become a ray of hope and provide all the necessary facilities to immunize the children born in these families.
