As stated by the American Physical Therapy Association, the key duties of a physical therapy are to observe and assist patients with functional limitation, impairment, disability or other health related conditions to regain strengths. This professional also helps people to maintain fitness and health at all ages.

In order to become a qualified professional in United States, you MUST have a master or doctorate degree qualification in physical therapy. There are 8 different specialties that you can choose to specialize in, i.e. cardiovascular and pulmonary, clinical electro physiology, women's health, pediatric, geriatric, orthopedic, sports medicine and neurology. Even after completing your education, you still need to go through the National Physical Therapy Examination in order to obtain a license. In general, most of the graduates from the accredited universities are able to pass the exam on the first try.

Once you have obtained the necessary license successfully, you are then required to start your practice in the real world. You need to find a place to work. Due to the high demand in this field, you can look ...
... for any job opportunity in local hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, etc. If you have gained clinical experience as an intern, it is much easier for you to get employed. If you don't really like to work under an employer, you can choose to work on your own after gaining a few years of working experience. You can have your own practice and be your own boss.

In short, physical therapists are playing important role in the medical community. As a graduate from this field, you shouldn't find any difficulty in getting yourself a job with stable income.
