How to make a website – this question has finally got answer as there are many DIY website builders, Do-it-for you- online platforms and some website design companies that have made this work easy. Now, with your website in place, it is time now for getting customers to generate revenues.

Today, it is the most difficult of all and hence marketers are coming up with new strategies for not only attracting customers but keep them engaged too. The biggest challenge after meeting how to make a website is to generate such a type of content that the customers not only want to read, but share as well.

Most of the brands are failing in executing this strategy. This post will help you point out such mistakes that prevent you from creating such content.

1. Inability to recognize your customer needs
Many brands let’s say around 80% of brands are still unaware of the most basic thing – what your customer actually wants. It is not only the thing to remember when you were busy in creating your website, but every single piece of content that you are generating needs to answer some issues of the readers. Here ...
... are some pointers to keep in mind:
i) Specify who your target audience is.
ii) Identify your customers’ problems and so devise your content strategy in a way that answers their problems.
iii) Talk to the customer in their language. If you are generating content for kids, you have to sound like you are talking to them face-to-face and not their parent. Use simple words, words that they relate to.

Tailor your content as the customer wishes to. Remember your content should interest not you, but your customers.

2. Speaking only about YOU
There is very thin line between promotion and over – promotion. It is good to be proud of your brand, but only talking about it will make the customer bore. They want to listen about you, but there is something they want you should provide them with like the ongoing trends, industry news and its impact on their lives. There should be objectivity in your content. Use quotes and analysis of other brands to generate un-sponsored user generated content.

Promotional content is important, but remember that the real way to engage with the customer is to produce such a content that addresses the needs of the customers. Subtle promotional strategy is the best.

3. Failing to grab attention of the customer
You might have generated the best piece of the content, but it will be of no use if your customer did not notice it. The reason: absence of attention grabbing headlines and CTAs. Neil Patel of Quick Sprout ion his article “Latest Trends in Headline Creation” says that on a scale of 100, it is only the 20 who actually read the post and the remaining 80 feel disconnected after reading the headline.

Here are some tips you can use to create awesome piece of content that generates attention:
i) Make use of power words.
ii) Try lists posts. Acc. to research they are read twice often than normal content.
iii) Long headlines also draw attention

For you any one strategy can come handy, or you might have to try all. But, do remember that whatever content piece you are generating, gets its worth.
