Corrosion or rust: The mechanical assembly of these are basically comprised of the metals. So, whenever metals come in the contact of the water, then the phenomenon of rust or corrosion starts. In order to avoid this, manufacturers are using a PVC coating so that these devices have a long life.
Scaling: In this process, the mineral precipitation occurs on the surface of the tank. This reduces the efficiency as well as the heat exchanging capacity of these devices. So, prior to heat exchange, water is treated in order to remove the mineral content.
Fouling: This is the process in which the accumulated precipitation material increases the rate of the corrosion. So, precipitation surely decreases the life of these devices.
