Lake Chapala Real Estate Expert, Jaime Niembro, Foresees Inexpensive Opportunities For "snow Birds"

In a recent interview with TOPMexicoRealEstate, expert Lake Chapala Real Estate broker, Jaime Niembro, reports a strong performance in the Fall of 2009, and shows optimism for the upcoming year.

Niembro's office, Ajijic Real Estate, includes 16 agents, and has been closing deals for satisfied buyers at an average of one per week during 2009 - the same as in 2008. Niembro is optimistic and expects that next year his office will guide at least as many satisfied buyers to their ideal Lake Chapala property.

However, the success of Ajijic Real Estate is not shared by all agents in the Lake Chapala Real Estate area.

"Our projection," observes Niembro, "does not necessarily reflect the market in our area." Of the 18 offices, Ajijic Real Estate has the highest sales.

While the lower cost of life in Mexico has always been a plus for buyers interested in Lake Chapala Real Estate, Niembro predicts that the recession will bring more North Americans, drawn by this benefit. Besides a much lower cost of living, the towns of Chapala and Ajijic also offer very close access to the Guadalajara International Airport (a 40 minute drive), making visits back home quick, easy and inexpensive.

Niembro also points out that the high season for buyers is coming up as the "snow birds" start looking for options to escape the cold winters of Canada and the northern U.S. Many of these Canadians and Americans, mentions Niembro, spend enough time in the Lake Chapala area to make owning a property not only worthwhile, but even a viable investment.

People looking for a second home for the winter will be interested in many new gated communities which are currently being built.

"We expect many who are part-time residents to feel comfortable living there," says Niembro, since they are "able to lock up and leave for long periods of time without undue worry about safety for their property."
