It's a must that you're very familiar with the acceptable writing format and that you know the elements that you need to use by heart. If you're a reporter, I am pretty sure that your editor has rejected some of your stories. This can be a pretty bad experience especially if you're just starting out. So, in this article, I'll give you some useful tips that can help you increase the chances of your articles getting published.

Here are some high powered tips that you can actually use when writing articles for newspapers:

1. First, write something worthwhile. As you're serving audience who wants to keep themselves abreast on new issues, it's important that you write stories that are hot and those that can have a huge impact on the lives of your readers. In here, you cannot afford to write simple tips or how-to; instead you must focus your attention on current events, sports, entertainment, and even police reports.

8. Be the first. In this endeavor, it's a huge deal if you're the first one to write about a great, catchy story. That is why, it pays that you widen your network so you can get more people to give you scoops or breaking news.

9. Deliver well-written articles. Your articles will surely not get published; no matter how interesting they are, if they are not well-written.
