Excelling In Article Writing - A Comprehensive Guide Part 2

This is as continuation of the Comprehensive Guide for excelling in Article Writing began in part one.
1. Make your articles scanable. Break your text by simply explaining the major points that you would like to cover using very short paragraphs. When giving out guides or tips, make sure that you list them using bullet points to make them easier on the eyes.
2. Put your readers at ease. Don't make these people feel that you're not talking to them and that your content is not for them. This is the worst thing that you can do when writing your articles. Convince these people that you write your articles with them in mind. Write them as if your audience are just in front of you. Explain your ideas the same way you would explain them to your peers. Use conversational tone and simple terms all the time.
3. Share a slice of your expertise. By this, I simply mean load your articles with trade secrets and insider tips. Doing this will work to your advantage. First, this can speed up the process of convincing your readers that you're really an expert. Second, this can amaze your readers to the highest level. As ...
... you know, these can lead to customer trust and later on, to more sales.
4. Share your stories. Telling your readers relevant personal stories will make your articles more captivating. For example, if you're writing for those people who are struggling to make money from affiliate marketing, share the story when you were just starting out. Tell them what you did to excel in this endeavor. If you do this, you can easily get your readers to focus on your articles.
5. Choose topics that are related to your offerings. This is for you to get the kind of response that you're looking for. You would like to increase your sales and revenue, right? So, create a need for your offerings but make sure that you do not resort to blatant ads.
6. Solicit feedback. Before you distribute your articles online, I suggest that you show them first to your friends and to neutral third parties. It's okay if they criticize you and your articles. You see, it's better if these people are the ones to spot the mistakes than your target audience. Be open to suggestions and revise your articles when and as needed.
7. Solve problems. You can easily get your target audience to pay attention if you help them solve their pressing issues for free. Since most articles contain solutions, I recommend that you only offer those that are more convenient and more effective so you can still set your articles apart from the rest.
8. Show genuine concern to your readers. Your articles must not spell out "buy my products now!" as this will surely annoy your readers. Instead of trying to make a sale, focus first on earning the trust and respect of your readers. You can do this by giving them useful content and by being truly interested in helping them reach their goals.
9. Avoid inserting too many links on your articles. Even if you're posting your articles on your blog and website, they will still not look good if they are bombarded with links. Limit the number of anchor texts and absolute URLs on your content. One link is enough for every short paragraph.
10. Keep your articles tight. By this, I simply mean focus on your chosen topic and do not even try to cover too many grounds on your content. Why? It's because you'll potentially confuse or lose the interest of your readers along the way.
