Solid Hardwood flooring
Solid wood flooring is milled from a single piece of timber that is air dried before sawing. Depending on the floor look, timber is cut in three ways namely flat sawn, quarter sawn and rift sawn. The timber is cut to the dimension desired. It is then packed unfinished for installation. Moisture content is then carefully controlled to ensure that the product does not warp during transportation and storage. Dry solid sawn
In this method, hardwood logs are kept at a low humidity level and they are dried slowly to draw moisture from the wood cells. Logs are then sawed in the same manner used in solid hardwood method. This style has the same look as that of solid hardwood, as the product is not exposed to moisture
Engineered wood flooring
Engineered wood in Sunderland flooring is composed of two layers of wood which helps in increasing stability. There are different types of engineered wood flooring. They are;
