Article Writing Guidelines - The Basic Don'ts Of Article Writing

It's tough out there. Did you read the companion article about the do's of article writing? Here are some things you should stay away from to increase your chances of success.
1. Don't make your first paragraph sound lousy. It's important to get your readers at the edge of their seats the moment they start reading your articles. This is to make sure that they'll read them in their entirety. Instead of saying nonsense things on your first couple of sentences, grab the attention of your readers and later on, get a hold of it by making your first paragraph as powerful as the titles that you're using. It must be intriguing and it must promise great benefits to your readers so these people will easily get hooked on your content.
2. Don't put blatant ads on your articles. The problem with other writers is that they're too excited to pitch in their products and services that they talk about them on the first part of their articles. You see, this isn't the best way to make a sale as this can potentially annoy your readers. These people will buy from you if you can convince them that you're an expert and that you have ...
... what it takes to solve their problems. Make your articles speak volumes about your expertise and your track record and you can easily win their business in no time.
3. Don't post articles that are full of grammar and spelling errors. Online users can be unforgiving these days. They will not surely forgive you if you don't care enough to give them great reading experience. So, check your articles before you distribute them. Ensure that they are well-written, flawless, and that your content flow smoothly.
4. Don't sound too formal. Unless you're writing about politics or for people in the upper corporate ladder, I suggest that you write your articles using conversational tone to easily put your readers at ease. These people will surely appreciate you for doing so as they'll find your articles more enjoyable to read. Address them using "you" or "your" instead of third person pronouns. Its okay if you'll ask them questions (preferably those that are answerable by yes or no) from time to time. Inject humor where you see fit and share your personal, relevant stories.
5. Don't talk about yourself too much. Self-serving articles will not take you farther in this field. Remember, your goal here is to impress your readers so it's important that you make your articles all about them. Talk about their problems and not yours. Write your articles from their perspective so you can easily build connection with them.
6. Don't procrastinate. Obviously, procrastination is deadly to your writing career. Do not think that tomorrow is the better day to write your articles because it's not. There is no better time to write your articles than today. It would help if you constantly motivate yourself and if you focus on reaching your goals which is to multiply the number of your copies.
