World Smile Day®

World Smile Day® is celebrated the world over, each year on the first Friday in October. Harvey Ball, a commercial artist created the 'smiley face' back in 1963. It became the most recognizable international symbol of goodwill. Upon fearing that the original meaning and intent of the symbol was being lost through over-commercialization and constant marketplace repetition, he decided to create World Smile Day®. It is a day to be devoted to smiles and acts of kindness throughout the world. The theme of which day is always "Do an act of kindness.
