During the last decade, which corresponds to the current and last presidency of Mexico, Mexico real estate has benefited from significant improvements in terms of infrastructure; many who have enjoyed their Mexico home for several decades now have been amazed at the rapid improvements in health care facilities, highways and supply and variety of day to day items available, bringing most aspects of life up to, and even some times passing standards we are used to from back home. So, early in September when President Felipe Calderón called his presidency "the presidency of infrastructure" it was a very justifiable claim.

The president cited that so far his government has invested 100 billion pesos in highway projects alone. According to the president, these actions are unprecedented in modern Mexican history.

An example of one of the initiatives of this government is the new runway in the Cancun airport which allows for simultaneous air operations - something unique in the country.
Several other major projects have already been completed, such as the Northern Arc from Puebla to Perote which serves ...
... as a bypass for Federal District. In addition, he endorsed the drive for suburban train system in Mexico City, which will soon have a new line and other projects that are near completion, such as the Durango-Mazatlan highway.

These are only some examples of the transportation improvements which have continuously making Mexico real estate a more attractive option for foreigners. They have made life here more convenient and comfortable, making travel to and from our home country, travel within Mexico to visit other parts of this beautiful country, and day to day commuting and drives much easier. As mentioned earlier, there have been many other improvements in the areas of healthcare, and many new, modern stores - both Mexican and international - bringing us the quality of life we expect back home. As we enter the second half of President Calderon's term, we can only expect that the improvements will continue. In terms of quality of life, Mexico real estate has never been better.
