How Motels Differ From Hotels In Facilities Offered

Traveling for long distances with children, elderly or pets has some limitations to it. The long journeys can be cut short or altered with a sudden change in weather. Any miscellaneous situation like a flat tire or an empty fuel tank, or if you get lost can also make you change your traveling plans and seek shelter in some resting place.
The most common kind of accommodation that you can usually find while criss-crossing on the highways is a motel. A motel is basically a ‘motorist hotel’ that is, a hotel that provides a parking space as well to the travelers. These are usually a single building with connecting rooms whose entry doors face a parking lot. These can also be some small cabins that share a common parking in front of them. The need for such accommodations arose due to the increased driving distances on the highways. Their availability facilitates easy journeys anywhere across the country.
Many people often find themselves confused between a hotel and a motel. The major difference is that a hotel provides lodging on a short-term basis for a certain amount of money that it charges for each and every ...
... additional facility that it provides. It may offer other amenities to the traveling guests to make their stay more comfortable. While on the other hand, a motel is a temporary accommodation on a short and long term basis. Like, motels in Hamilton, which offer individual and private spaces to stay. It is usually a single or two storied building with connected rooms, open walkways and external entrances facing the common ground where vehicles are parked.
The hotels are located within a city, most often in the downtown. They have an easy access to all the premier venues of the area including business centers, airports, shopping malls and stores, tourist areas, sports arenas, cinemas and casinos, exclusive spas and boutiques. In opposite to this, the motels are located on highways or the outskirts of towns and rural areas.
The motels offer an affordable and less expensive mode of accommodation. They only provide the basic facilities needed to spend the time there. They lack the secondary or the more expensive features. The hotels are a complete contradiction to these motels. The hotels offer a rich and luxurious accommodation to make the stay of the customers really comfortable and rewarding. They are ranked by the star ratings from 1 to 5 that pertain to the quality and number of facilities offered by them. As they offer more amenities, they are also more expensive.
The two places of accommodation greatly differ on the amenities provided. They are poles apart and subjectively, there is no comparison between the two. The hotels offer an opulent experience with state of the art facilities and excellent customer service. These may be differentiated in standard, premium and family suites, and consist of indoor or outdoor pools, Jacuzzi, tennis courts, golf course or sports room, fitness center, business centers, banquet halls, wi-fi, computers and TV in every room, room service etc. The motels only offer the minimal or basic amenities for a short stay there.
With the above mentioned information, you can make a wiser choice to decide about your place of accommodation.
