Types Of Audio Cable

The audio cables can make the hearing possible of a sound wave travelling through solid, liquid or gas. To make the sound audible, it should have a pressure of 20 micropascals or requires being at 1000 Hz. Below are the types of cables that are used to transmit audio signals:
- Digital Audio (Toslink cables) - Toshiba has designed the Toslink or the optical cable which are used for the CD players. For its connection system, it uses glass or plastic fiber. These audio cables can be used up to maximum of 5 to 10 meters without using a signal booster. This type of cables is mainly used in Mini Disk or CD players or digital audio tape recorders.
- 3.5 mm Audio Cables - These cables are used for small transistor based radio receiver earpieces. They are also used in earphones or headphones. They are known as audio, mini, stereo, mp3 jack, phone or jack plug.
- RCA Stereo Audio Cables - They are originally designed for amplifiers that are used to connect mono phonograph players. They are also used a video cables. Each of these cables requires a separate plug and the audio devices that need an adapter along ...

- Digital Audio - S/PDIF Cables - S/PDIF is shorthand for Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format cable which is used to transmit stereo digital signals. They are also used in sound cards of computers, car audio systems, CD or DVD.
