Various Signals Of Scart Cable

Nowadays, Scart has become the common connector for audio and visual equipment in Europe and a standard connector for many applications. It is a bi-directional connector as far as standard composite video and analog audio signals are concerned. As Scart is a bi-directional, it is used for a Pay TV and in the earlier days, was used to decode a tele-text. Scart helps the device to command a TV set to switch between the signals in order to overlay in the TV picture image.
Scart cable carries various types of signals.
The first one is the composite signals which have the lowest quality. This signal carried by the Scart cable has luminance and chrominance signals mixed with it. The interference is caused by the mixing of these signals due to which its quality gets lower. Such mixed signals are produced by VHS VCR equipment.
The second type of signal is S-Video signal. It is a high quality video signal carried by the Scart cable. It has luminance and chrominance signals in the same way as the composite signals but, these are two separate signals. So, there is no possibility of any interference between them.
The ...
... next type of signal is the RGB signal carried by the Scart cable. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. This signal is similar to S-Video and is the high quality video interference. These colors represent the pictures in a TV. In the domestic source, a synchronization signal is also required which is present on the composite line.
