Good Christian dating advice is becoming harder and harder to find. To be honest, it can be extremely difficult to start and maintain a healthy dating relationship these days with all of the popular dating values being promoted by the mainstream media.



Now, that's not to say that all media advice is bad when it comes to Christian dating, but if you don't have a specific moral foundation and set of Godly principles upon which you govern your dating relationship, you are in trouble. And when you hear conflicting advice that does against your principles, it can be hard to "stick to your guns".


And it's hard to find good Christian dating advice. Most of it is so generic and vague that it seems to have barely any use at all. On top of that, most Christian advice rarely gives you any practical steps to follow - preferring rather to focus on the spiritual side of things. And this is good, but let's face it, you need some practical advice on what specifically you need to do as well.

There is nothing wrong with you if you don't do the things that everyone else does. You don't have to conform when it comes to things like sleeping around or being a part of the bar or club scene, trying to pick up the latest guy or girl. Your morality and high standard of character set you apart from everyone else and is something that your future spouse will value immensely.
Don't succumb to peer pressure and end up regretting it!


Get Christian dating advice.

Don't get advice from non-Christian sources such as self-help books, daytime talk shows, or the latest movie, as their advice doesn't have Christian standards upon which their advice is based.
This makes a huge difference, as they often don't address things like: dating people from other denominations, how to break up or initiate a Godly relationship, or how to even go about finding the right man or woman.
You need to get this type of information from a Christian source, or you risk following advice that might get you into more trouble than you bargained for!



Hang out with other Christians.

It's obvious, but often overlooked. If you want to meet a good Christian guy or girl, you need to be where they are. So hang out in groups that are focused around church, youth groups, or different Christian volunteer opportunities, or conferences.



If you want to find a serious Christian, you need to be and do the things that they do.


Date with the intention of getting married.

If you date with the intention of marrying this person, you will avoid a lot of headaches and heartaches. If you don't date with the intention of getting married, you might end up dating just like everyone else - and you risk hurting the other person.
Be upfront with the person that you're dating - ask them if they want to hang out, or if they want to date for the purpose of finding someone to marry. It may seem awkward at the moment, but it will save you both a lot of problems down the road.
Christian dating can seem more complicated than regular dating, but when you date as a Christian, you are really working towards finding someone who you are compatible with who holds the same Christian values as you do. This may not always be easy, but it is worth it.
