It is a plain woven cotton fabric.
This fabric can be categorized according to its weight. It is graded from light weight to heavy weight fabric material. The differently graded fabrics have different uses because of their weight and weave pattern. It is easily dyed and available in a large number of colors.

As a result, clothes made from this material are more comfortable than synthetics to wear during the summer months. Being a natural fiber, it absorbs water and may stretch, weaken and break when wet. It is used by artists as a canvas cloth to paint on.
